Overview
Our Business Intelligence Department is responsible for producing quality research to support our clients' objectives across the region, and to facilitate the making of critical business decisions. A deep understanding of each client's business and the industries they have interests in, alongside extensive in-country networks and local knowledge, allow us to produce comprehensive, research-rigorous reports.
Services of our Business Intelligence Department include the following:

Market/competitor research and surveys in contemplation of overseas market expansion across Southeast Asia with a focus on Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

Risk analysis of political developments across regional markets, including personality profiles of decision-makers.

Industry-focused research and analysis, including regulatory updates and analysis of potential market impact.

Provision of support for business disputes and the conduct of internal investigations, including asset-tracing and due diligence.
Primary Responsibilities

Managing existing client accounts ranging from SMEs to government agencies and MNCs.

Preparing and optimising presentations, briefs, and reports to clients.

Analysing developments and conducting research on industry and political developments across Southeast Asia.

Managing information flows, including overt news sources, social media sources, database subscriptions, and human sources.

Leading the development of obtaining new channels of information.

Managing, liaising and collaborating with lawyers from our regional offices and in-country contractors to develop high quality research-rigorous products.

Verifying the credibility of information and sources.

Keeping abreast of new and existing open-source channels for research such as new websites or new functions in existing databases.

Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and in confidence.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated professional with:

A bachelor or master’s degree in any of the following fields – International Relations, Government Affairs, Law, or International Business.

At least 2 years work experience (candidates with lesser experience will be considered for a junior position); a background in regional business intelligence and/or consulting are highly encouraged to apply.

An interest in, and are current with, regional business and political developments.

Demonstrated research experience in a commercial or business setting.

Strong ability to summarise information and produce accurate, high-quality reports.

Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines.

Excellent command of both spoken and written English; proficiency in other languages would be an added advantage.

Industry experience in technology, real estate, finance, arms, and energy would be viewed favourably but is not mandatory.
